Travis Barker chose his MySpace page as a place to talk about last month’s plane crash that left him badly burned. He thanks his friends, family and fans for all their support and expresses his deep sadness for the loss of his assistant Chris Baker, who died as a result of the incident.
He has had seven surgeries to date and expects to have more during his recovery. Barker says that he wants to get better as soon as possible so that he can hold his children again.
Travis, who is a vegetarian, says that he’s been eating meat again to help his healing process.
The former Blink 182 drummer also posted photos from the hospital, which you can see now at his MySpace page. Travis says that DJ AM, who also survived the blaze, is doing well.
• Barker Talks After Plane Crash
Travis Barker has spoken to Us Weekly about the plane crash he survived last month that left him badly burned.
The former Blink 182 drummer says that he is "thankful to be alive". He reveals that a plane crash had been his biggest fear and now that he survived one he says, "I'm just grateful to be here at all". Barker decided to take a bus back to his hometown of Los Angeles with his father and ex-wife Shanna Moakler rather than fly and is currently being treated at a burn center there.
Barker and his musical partner DJ AM were the only survivors of the crash, which left 4 passengers dead.
Travis is hopeful about his recovery, saying, "I am doing the best I can possibly be". He added, "I just have been in surgery after surgery. I have third-degree burns basically from my feet up to my waist and both hands. One of my hands has second degree burns and one has third degree burns. I'm trying to have a quick recovery and play the drums again and be able to hold my kids again."
• Travis Talks New Album
Before the plane crash, Travis Barker was working on his solo album. When MTV News talked to him at the 2008 MTV VMAs, he spoke about the venture.
“Well, in the past I’ve always accompanied a band or like backed up a band whether it be like Blink [182], or the Transplants or +44 or Box Car Racer. This is me writing all the music and having different MC’s and vocalist guest stars on it. So, it’s so different from anything I’ve ever done before.”
There is no release date for his new disc yet, but according to the Hollywood Insider, Barker has lined up Lil Wayne, The Game, Beanie Siegel and more to appear on the album.

60 Belgian Women Sing Radiohead's Creep (Listen)
That said, it?s been a long time since I?ve actually listened to any early-era Radiohead, but I recently discovered this fantastic live recording of Scala & Kolacny Brothers doing a beautifully sullen piano and voice rendition of Radiohead?s ubiquitous 1993 single. The cluster of sixty something Belgian women focus primarily on minimalist...
