Big Names Set To Honor Dimebag

This year’s Ozzfest won’t just be rock, there will be a somber moment as well when some artists pay tribute to fallen Pantera and Damageplan guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott.
The homage will feature Abbott’s brother, Vinnie Paul, as well as a slew of other famous musicians. They all plan to salute the acclaimed guitarist who was gunned down on stage in late 2004 while performing in Ohio.
Among the rockers who will stand together onstage to pay their respects to Abbott with a set full of Pantera classics include Slayer’s Kerry King, Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez, Scott Ian and Charlie Benante from Anthrax, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and many more.
The tribute will take place following the mainstage performance of Vinnie Paul’s latest band, Hellyeah.
This year’s Ozzfest will be held on August 9th in Dimebag’s homestate of Texas. |
