Leto Talks Lawsuit
|
30 Seconds to Mars are being sued by their record label.
In a letter to fans, singer Jared Leto explains that they are being sued for 30-million dollars for breach-of-contract. The band says that they signed their deal in California nine years ago, and they were attempting to get out of the contract because in that state, contracts bind bands for only seven years. The label disagrees, though, and claims they didn’t deliver as many albums as promised.
EMI adds that they “hope to resolve these matters amicably and put them behind us so we can continue working in partnership with the band to take them to even greater levels of success.”
Leto reveals that they were disheartened after the label recently let two-thousand employees go and says that they have yet to see any money from the two-million copies that their album, A Beautiful Lie, sold.
We’ll keep you posted on the details, but for now, 30 Seconds to Mars are in LA working on their new album. |
