Metallica recently announced the plethora of different ways (CD, digital, vinyl) for fans to get their latest album, Death Magnetic, when it comes out this September.
Yesterday, they announced one other way to get the record... in a coffin. The band has now confirmed a special collector’s edition package for the disc, which comes in a coffin box. Along with Death Magnetic, the set also includes a CD with demos of the songs, a making-of-the-album DVD, an exclusive T-shirt, a flag, guitar picks, a poster and a collector’s credit card embossed with a code to redeem a free download of a special European show happening in September.
The band is still finishing up the artwork for the special package and will post pictures once they are done.
Metallica Guitar Hero... fact or fiction?
The guys are keeping this pretty secretive for now but it looks like you'll be able to play a metric buttload of Metallica songs on Guitar Hero soon. A post on their site says: "Let's just say that perhaps, just maybe, if you've already mastered 'One' on GHIII there might be a pile of 'Tallica songs in your future."
More details as they become available.
