Earlier this week, Noel Gallagher of Oasis cancelled an interview with Ian Camfield that had been scheduled for today (Thursday, Sept. 11).
Yesterday, K-Rock was told that Oasis members Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, and Andy Bell would fill in for Noel. But this morning that interview was also axed, along with the band's Friday night concert at Terminal Five in NYC.
The interviews and concert, which was to showcase new material from their forthcoming album Dig Out Your Soul, were cancelled because Noel Gallagher is still recovering from the injuries he suffered this past Sunday night, when he was attacked by a fan on stage in toronto.
See the article below for more info and a video of the incident.
Hopefully Noel will be feeling better soon. We were really looking forward to finding out about the trip to space Liam allegedly purchased for Noel. Plus, we're sure there's another fight with Liam coming up in the near future (perhaps in space) and we want him in his best form for the bout.
Canadians Love Oasis
Noel Gallagher, the guitarist for Oasis, had a little problem in Toronto over the weekend. A "fan" bum-rushed him on stage while the band was in the middle of "Morning Glory" and sent him flying head-first into the crowd. According to the band's website, the star "fell heavily onto his monitor speakers". He may have fractured his rib and sustained ligament damage.
His li'l brother Liam, who normally would have done this himself, even got a little angry and tried to throw a few punches at the fan. In an unbelievable turn of awesome, Oasis came back out and finished their set. Because they're pros, that's why.
Perhaps Noel should take some lessons from the Stones...
Then again, Noel was actually playing his guitar, so that might not have worked out the same way.
Oasis' forthcoming studio album “Dig Out Your Soul” will be released Oct 7. on Big Brother Recordings/Reprise.
Oasis Expose Their Soul To NYC
It’s always neat to see how bands choose to market their new music. For Oasis, the British band decided to treat New York fans to some of their as-yet un-released music, off their album Dig Out Your Soul, in an unusual way.
This past Friday, street musicians played some of the un-released Oasis music on the thoroughfares of the Big Apple, from Times Square to Washington Square Park.
Liam Gallagher Disses Coldplay
While Chris Martin says he's a big Oasis fan and that Coldplay would be willing to open for the Manchester group, the feeling isn't mutual for Liam Gallagher.
Kiss unhappy about rock hall of fame exclusion
They've sold millions of records, and influenced several generations of fans and musicians. So why isn't Kiss in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? "There are disco bands, rap bands, Yiddish folk song bands in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but not Kiss," the band's outspoken frontman said during a speech at the Billboard Touring Conference
How Axl Rose Spent All That Time
?Chinese Democracy? is the Titanic ship of rock albums: It?s outsize, lavish, obsessive, technologically advanced and, all too clearly, the end of an era.
The 20 Dumbest Band Names of All Time
#12 - Boyz II Men -- Everyone loves some ?Motownphilly,? but the creativity behind this group?s name is just plain stupid. What was Michael Bivins smoking when he decided to allow the Philadelphia legends to release R&B records under one of the worst play on words ever?
60 Belgian Women Sing Radiohead's Creep (Listen)
That said, it?s been a long time since I?ve actually listened to any early-era Radiohead, but I recently discovered this fantastic live recording of Scala & Kolacny Brothers doing a beautifully sullen piano and voice rendition of Radiohead?s ubiquitous 1993 single. The cluster of sixty something Belgian women focus primarily on minimalist...
