Velvet Revolver Still Seeking A Singer
|
In April, Scott Weiland left Velvet Revolver and the band has been looking for a new singer ever since.
In fact, according to guitarist Slash, they’re still on the hunt. The former Guns N’ Roses rocker told Entertainment Weekly that the group’s informal audition process “is still ongoing”, adding, “Now that we have the choice, we’re gonna make sure we get the right guy.”
The guy from Spacehog (Royston Langdon) was most recently a frontrunner (thanks to K-Rock's efforts... or not) and according to Slash, he clicked with the band, but he just wasn’t the right guy. Slash explained that he thinks Royston is fantastic, but has too much of a range like Weiland when VR now wants “something aggressive and very hard rock”.
Velvet Revolver Guitarist Does Theme Song
Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner helped pen the theme song to a new show. The program is called Sons of Anarchy and it is a drama with darkly comedic undertones, about an outlaw motorcycle gang protecting their small town.
Kushner explained why he penned the music for the series, noting, “Sons is an incredibly intense, gnarly drama about family and the things we do for love and money when we’re not presented the same opportunity others are.” Check out the show and Kushner’s music on FX, Wednesdays at 10PM Eastern.
Slash To Score A Movie
Slash is adding to his resume – the Velvet Revolver guitarist plans to score the Mexican film This is Not a Movie.
The English language flick was independently financed with Mexican funds and Slash spoke about it to Mojo magazine. He revealed, “It’s very cutting edge, very artistic and a little bit trippy. It’s dark and jagged and a bit surreal, in and out of reality, you know?”
